I prefer to adopt a leadership approach which inspires teams to operate with integrity, excellence and passion and believe myself to be an excellent communicator and dynamic problem solver who is results focused and consistently exceeds the high expectations of both internal and external customers.
Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in Leadership and Management.
NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY (2016)
Classification: 2:1
Following a wide and varied practical career in facility operations I embarked on a period of further education in 2013 in order to attain a level 6 qualification and widen the range of opportunities available to me. I undertook this study independently of my existing employment and attended lectures on both my days off during each semester for the first two and a half years.
Modules included: Strategic Leadership, Strategic Management, Financial Management and International Marketing.
In January 2016, following ten years at David Lloyd Leisure I left work in order to concentrate on my final exams, presentations and research project.
Research Project: Can't Pay? Won't Pay! A critical study into the effects of low pay on employees in the UK workforce culminating in the identification of best practice policies for employers to mitigate these effects and the provision of recommendations for further research.
For further details on my final project please click on the image below where you will find an abstract for the work.
I am extremely proud to have been able to achieve the degree as I embarked on the process with no formal academic training or qualifications due to the first half of my career being entirely vocational qualification based. In addition completing the course whilst also working full-time was exceptionally challenging and required a level of determination, self-control and dedication that I am pleased to have been able to demonstrate.
